Ageing Varnish
- The preparatory treatment for the application of Cracking Varnish.
- A varnish that has a slightly yellow 'aged' gloss finish.

Cracking Varnish
- This varnish, when combined with Ageing Varnish, imparts a cracked appearance as a result of a controlled chemical reaction.
- The cracked effect may be further enhanced with the application of Patina Black and White Spirit with a soft cloth.

Transcryl Transfer Medium
- A varnish used to transfer a picture printed on paper - it is applied to the print, left to dry and carefully peeled off the paper.
- When the Transcryl transfer has been fixed to a support, Relief Gel may be used to give the impression of brush strokes.

Relief Gel
- This may be used to give an impression of relief, such as brush strokes.
- Dries to form a hard and completely transparent film.

Craquelure
- A simple two-part application which produces an irregular crazed pattern on most decorated or non-porous surfaces to give the delicate effect of cracked varnish.
- Water-based - much simpler and cleaner than normal oil/water based systems.
- Fool-proof - anyone can get a successful antique effect within hours. Top coat can be applied either as soon as base coat is dry or latter.
- A base coat together with a top coat is necessary in order to achieve the Craquelure effect.

Crackleglaze
- A water-based glaze which when sandwiched between two coats of paint, causes the top layer of paint to crack, revealing the base colour.
- Ideal for applying on to decorative accessories e.g. trays, boxes, frames and small pieces of furniture.

Transferglaze
- A non-toxic acrylic emulsion which binds printing inks into a waterproof plastic film.
- Can be used to make a transfer from almost any printed source except photographs and some high gloss varnished prints.
- Transferred prints may be used on cast resins, eggs, wood, metal, glass, plastic, wax, ceramics, fabric, card and canvas.
